Amélie had her 8 week check-up with the GP yesterday.

She now weighs 4.72 kilos. The doctor checked her heart, eyes, hips, fontanelle and palate and apart from a umbilical granuloma (belly button hernia which will go away on its own) she is in excellent health and making good progress on all fronts. I asked the doctor if it was normal for there to be so much poo and she laughed- I guess this is a pretty routine question asked by first time mothers. It seems we have a ‘pooey’ baby. Nice. She continues to add to her repertoire of gurgles and coos and gives us lovely smiles every day. She is also opening her hands more and reaching out and touching her surrondings.
