Amélie needs a passport so this morning we tried to take some photos. Eventhough she is only 3 weeks old she requires a photograph which will be in her passport for 5 years. The form comes with very precise instructions and a special sections for babies and children which reads as follows:
We appreciate you may have difficulty in meeting these guidelines, for instance, perhaps head size, looking straight at the camera or keeping the mouth closed. However, you must do your best to meet all the guidelines you can. It is important that, the adult’s hand cannot be seen, and that we can see the full face. Also, for children over six months old, we must be able to see the colour of the eyes.
I wonder what they will make of our attempts…

I remember when I had to get a passport for Noah when he was about 8 weeks or so. I actually had to go to a photographer who made me hold Noah up on my knee resting on a chair. He had to do it over and over again and frankly I’m surprised the Swedes accepted the photo. And yes, the photo is there to stay for 5 years, he already looks nothing like it! It will be a super cute memento though!
