This weekend Amélie’s fairy-godmother Gabby had a fairytale wedding and Amélie was honoured with the role of flowergirl.

Opa did a great job of driving us down to Somerset and dodged the various missiles Amélie threw his way (yes, I actually said the words ‘don’t throw cheese at Opa’) and we were all happy to arrive in the countryside where Amélie was able to see lots of farm animals.

After a run through at the Church it was back to the house to get ready. Jane did an amazing job at making all the flowergirl dresses and pageboy outfits and all the children looked adorable.

And then the beautiful bride made her appearance and we set off to the church.

Now I don’t have any photos of Amélie’s star moment because I was crouching behind a pew coaxing her to follow the rest of the flowergirls – and am very proud to report that she did exactly as planned and made her way down aisle all on her own. She then had a toroughly enjoyable time during the service happily chatting away and toddling around.

She also loved showing everyone the bell sewn into the seam of her dress.

All in all it was the most perfect wedding to the very last detail.
