One month on

Amélie is one month old today. Wow. Alot has happened in the past month.

From the labour (I am proud to say it was a drug-free active-birth and a positive end to what has otherwise been the pregnancy from hell), holding her for the first time, bringing her home and getting to know her to learning how to breastfeed, dealing with disturbed nights and the practicalities of getting out of the house with a small baby it has been an amazing and special time.

Amélie changes every day and watching her is our new favourite pastime- we can make out different facial expressions and their matching noises so can tell when she is hungry, when she is busy filling her nappy, when she has tummy pains, when she is tired or when she is content. She has grown alot and is quickly outgrowing her newborn clothes and the smallest of the nappy sizes.

Its true that they don’t stay small for long. These are fleeting moments and we are enjoying them everyday.
