We are still waiting. As the days go by a pattern seems to be establishing itself…Nazz and Francesca wake up and realise that nothing happened during the night, again. They look at the bump and tell her that today would be a great day to make an appearance. Bump stretches and they see her feet appear under Francesca’s right ribs and her back and bum rise to the surface like whale for air. Bump is happy where she is. Nazz goes to work and Francesca potters around the house, reads the paper (the new format guardian to be precise), attempts the crossword and sudoku, watches the lunchtime news and maybe even Neighbours. If the weather is nice she might go and sit in the new V&A garden to catch up on some reading or she might go swimming or to Pilates or have a nap. Nazz calls several times during the day to ask if anything is happening. Friends and relatives call to see if anything is happening and Nazz and Francesca consider not picking up the phone anymore. In the evening they have a spicy curry and go for a brisk walk (last night this took them all the way to the hospital to show bump that this is where it would be happening, just in case she hadn’t quite understood the drill). Nazz and Francesca go to bed and tell bump that they are ready for her.
